How to fix muddy garden

A tidy front porch is half the success in organizing a garden plot. After all, the front porch – it is the first thing that catches the eye of both residents and guests. On a flat paved area you can put a deck chair, a box with flowers or a table. In addition, you will not suffer from mud on rainy days and bring it on the shoes in the house. In general, the advantages are obvious, it remains to understand what materials can come in handy.

Rubber tiles.

This material appeared relatively recently, but already firmly settled in the field of gardening and landscape design. Rubber tiles can pave not only the adjacent territory, but also paths, and even a playground, if there is one on the site. Thus, using the same material throughout the area, you will create a harmonious and attractive space.

What is good about rubber tiles? It is very durable and wear-resistant. You can safely drive a car on this surface, and even if a bucket of water slips out of your hands, you do not have to worry about damage.

Rubber tiles do not fade and do not become softer in the hot sun (like asphalt), it keeps a neat appearance for a long time, and therefore you will not have to think about repairs. Rubber has a springy structure, which means falls on this surface will be less traumatic. That is why this tile can be used on playgrounds. And finally, to pave the area in the garden with such tiles, there is no need to call workers, you can do it with your own hands.

In addition to advantages, the tiles have disadvantages, the most important – it can not be laid near an open fire, because the material is flammable.

Natural turf

Green natural lawn – one of the most organic solutions for the dacha. Still, when you come to nature, you want a little break from tile and asphalt, agree? At the same time, a site with lawn grass looks aesthetically pleasing and neat. But such, at first glance, an easy way to ennoble the area, there are a number of nuances that are important to know about before planting.

To make the cover look attractive, the soil before planting plow and level it. Lawn should be chosen with maximum protection from trampling, so that the site does not form “bald spots.” After the grass has grown, it must be regularly mowed, otherwise instead of a neat coverage you will have a field in front of your house. Among other things, a lawn requires regular maintenance, just like any ornamental planting: weeding, fertilizing, reseeding in places where the grass has thinned a lot.

Artificial turf

Despite the fact that this coverage is not natural, it removes several points of responsibility from you at once: maintenance, seeding, regular treatment. You simply buy plastic grass on a roll and roll it out. True, before this lawn should still be prepared – level and remove turf, at a minimum. Artificial turf does not burn in the sun, it can be washed and swept.

The disadvantages of such a surface also have. The first and most important disadvantage – it heats up, that is, if on a hot afternoon you want to lie on the grass or at least walk barefoot on it, on the artificial surface you can get burned. The second disadvantage is in the composition of the surface. Artificial turf is made from the remains of tires and other synthetic materials that can give fumes. True, serious research on this subject has not yet been conducted.

Rubble

Crushed stone, pebbles or gravel is not difficult to get – you can buy it off hand or order it from special organizations, and you will be brought to your home. Perhaps the easier installation is difficult to think of – you just mark out the places where this type of coating will be placed, and pour it there. That’s it.

Stone mounding can act as an independent covering, or it can be in combination with tile and other materials. Especially attractive stone embankment looks at the pool or other pond, as well as so it is possible to issue a parking space for the car. From the disadvantages it is worth noting quite difficult maintenance (stone mound is not sweepable) and the need to regularly update the layer, as it tends to trample, as well as to remove weeds and grass that will grow through the stones.

Chips

It can be used to design colorful lawns and decorate flowerbeds. It’s easy to use, environmentally friendly, safe, and very pleasant to walk on barefoot.

However, wood chips have a number of serious drawbacks. It fades in the sun. On average, colored wood chips lose their shade in one or two summers. Afraid of wind and moisture – because it is a natural material, it is prone to rot, in addition, chips are very light, and the wind can carry them around the garden. Chips are suitable for local garden design, it can not be used in places where there is an open fire.
